The Project › Objectives and Pedagogy
General objectives
- In Europe, to reinforce the socially responsible impetus and commitment
of the young citizens on the issues related to a sustainable development
- To give concrete continuity to the international process initiated by the Brazilian Ministry of Education, by contributing to diffuse, open debates and implement the international Youth Charter - Let’s Take Care of the Planet - that was jointly written by youth from 47 countries, in Brasilia in 2010
- To allow the European young people to express their ideas to political and economic local actors, and to international authorities
- To Bring a contribution of the youth to Rio+20 event
Pedagogical objectives
- To bring knowledge and competences on the issues related to a sustainable development in order to provoke changes of behaviors at local level
- To reach a consensus at European level on shared responsibilities and commitments
- To stimulate the youth in their capacity of action and of initiative in their schools and daily lives
- To reinforce an active European citizenship
To achieve these objectives, the project aims the following educational activities:
- Topical enquiries and research
- Debates (with scientists, local authorities, all related sector) on the project topics’ issues and youth commitments
- Definition and implementation of local actions
- Elaboration of artistic productions
- Collective writing of an Open letter to political decision-makers in view of Rio 2012
- Election of youth delegates by the youth
- Preparation of and participation to local, regional, national, international conferences
