Portugal participated in the 'Let's Take Care of the Planet' activities in 2009-2010. The members of the national coordination team changed their functions, since then, so it was not possible to maintain our partership with them. But We hope we will reconnect for the 2013 activities, with a new coordination team!

Participation of Portugal in the Let's take Care of the Planet project - Confint Brazil 2010

LET’S TAKE CARE OF PORTUGAL

In the scope of the Portuguese participation in the international project “Let’s take Care of the Planet”, a meeting was held in Lisbon on 25th February 2010, with the participation of the 40 Portuguese schools (from both the continent and the Autonomous Region of the Azores) which will take part in the national conference, the CPLP 'Confint' coordinator (Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries) - Joana Amaral -, and the members of the National Organizing Committee.
Apart from the presentation of the project, each representative was offered the regulations and the book “Step by Step”, among other documents. In the scope of their autonomy and participation in networks of environmental education projects, schools have developed their initiatives and actions, according to their own methodology, and by involving as many students and teachers as possible, as well as local authorities and other members of the community. Students from each of the participating schools have debated environmental issues within the subjects “Earth, Air, Water and Energy” and have selected which responsibilities and actions they would present at the National Conference in Lisbon, from 12 to 13 April 2010.
During this National Conference, students have participated in workshops and assemblies, presented their assignments and jointly written the National Youth Charter of Responsibilities "Let’s Take care of Portugal". In addition, they have chosen the 8 delegates who will represent Portugal at the Children and Youth International Conference “Let’s Take Care of the Planet” to be held in June 2010.For more information on the national Conference, click here (in Portuguese).

The Portuguese Coordination team, along with their CPLP partners, have opened their own web space to present the project and ongoing activities. Click here to visit it, you will find much more information on the Confint process in Portugal (website in Portuguese)!
