One of the participating schools has opened a Turkish website 'Let's Take Care of the Planet', on the local and national activities. You can visit it in English and in Turkish!
The Foundation for Environmental Education in Turkey, TURCEV (NGO), supports the program in Turkey.
Turkish schools are organised under the framework of Unesco Asociated Schools Network and Young Reporters for the Environment program (YRE).
Two of our schools participated to the 2010 “Let’s Take Care of the Planet” International Conference in Brasil.
In 2011-2012, 20 Turkish schools have participated to the local and regional activities. 7 young delegates were then selected to participate to the European youth Conference in Brussels, with two teachers and one facilitator.
This school year, 50 schools are involved in the project.
Let’s Take Care of the Planet - Europe, 2012-2013
Three local conferences are being organized this 2012-2013 school year, in three big cities (İzmir, Ankara, İstanbul).
First local conference: October 12th, 2102, in İzmir
25 teachers from 13 schools attended. The Let’s Take Care of the Planet activities were presented in detail, from the origin (Brasil 2010) to this year (Brussels European Conference, May 2012). A teacher who was at Brussels’ Conference described what they did there. She told about the youth and adults excitement and feelings during workshops, preparing the Open Letter to the decision makers, dialoguing with the politicians, participating to the body percussion, etc.

All of them really liked this presentation and wanted to join the LTCP project. At the end, Aynur, the Turkish facilitator and coordinator assistant, distributed the Open Letter and incited the audience to diffuse it and use it as widely as possible.
Second local conference: Ankara, October 15th
Here again, the activities and results of the project were presented to the regional teachers and partners.
Third local conference: December 2012, İstanbul
In İstanbul, on 8th December, a presentation of the activities and results of the Let's Take Care of the Planet Project was made by the national coordinator, Prof. Celik Tarimci, along with his assistant and national facitilitator, Aynur Bayraktar and Belgin, a teacher who participated in the European conference in Brussels.
The teachers and students are very motivated to take part in the project continuity. Therfore, the future steps of the project are really important.
